| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Members of Texans for Public Education are gathering |

| 6 | 6 | | at the State Capitol on April 12, 2023, providing a fitting |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | opportunity to recognize the group for its civic contributions; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Established in 2013, T4PE is a nonpartisan |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | organization that strives to improve public education across the |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | state by supporting legislators and policies that align with its |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | goals; today, the group is one of the largest educational |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | grassroots organizations in Texas, encompassing nearly 38,000 |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | members; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, T4PE conducts research on elected state officials |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | and candidates, and it posts ratings to serve as a guide for the |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | group's members; in addition, the organization provides a number of |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | resources to alert members about upcoming elections and to inform |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | them about current events; it also hosts rallies, town halls, and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | other functions to educate the public and advocate for issues |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | related to public education; and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, The members of T4PE have set an inspiring example of |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | political engagement, and they are indeed deserving of special |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | recognition for their efforts to support public education in Texas; |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | now, therefore, be it |

| 25 | 25 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | Legislature hereby commend Texans for Public Education for its work |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | and extend to all those affiliated with the group sincere best |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |

| 30 | 30 | | prepared for T4PE as an expression of high regard by the Texas House |
