44 R E S O L U T I O N
55 WHEREAS, Members of Swear 2 Care are visiting Austin on April
66 11, 2023, to take part in Students Engaged in Advancing Texas Day at
77 the State Capitol; and
88 WHEREAS, A support group founded in 2022 by Soha Jashwant, a
99 student at Tompkins High School in Katy, Swear 2 Care plays a vital
1010 role in raising awareness of the youth mental health crisis while
1111 fostering greater understanding of therapy and other forms of
1212 assistance; and
1313 WHEREAS, Under the direction of Ms. Jashwant and core team
1414 leaders Regina Wu, Jiajun Chen, and Kailin Huang, the organization
1515 is made up of members who pledge to care for the well-being of their
1616 family, friends, and peers while also focusing on their own mental
1717 health; moreover, they are dedicated to addressing urgent metal
1818 health issues and place a special emphasis on such subjects as body
1919 insecurity and cyberbullying that can be accelerated on social
2020 media platforms; and
2121 WHEREAS, The members of Swear 2 Care have set an inspiring
2222 example of activism in behalf of their fellow students, and these
2323 outstanding young Texans are truly deserving of special
2424 recognition; now, therefore, be it
2525 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
2626 Legislature hereby recognize the Swear 2 Care organization on the
2727 occasion of Students Engaged in Advancing Texas Day at the State
2828 Capitol on April 11, 2023, and extend to all those associated with
2929 the group sincere best wishes for a meaningful and memorable visit
3030 to Austin; and, be it further
3131 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3232 prepared for Swear 2 Care as an expression of high regard by the
3333 Texas House of Representatives.
