| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Members of the Granbury Chamber of Commerce and |

| 7 | 7 | | Leadership Granbury are gathering in Austin on February 2, 2023, to |

| 8 | 8 | | celebrate Hood County Day at the Capitol; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Situated on Lake Granbury, the county seat of |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | Granbury was founded in 1854 and incorporated in 1871; recognized |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | by USA Today as the Best Historic Small Town in 2019, 2020, and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | 2021, the city continues to maintain and improve its historic |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | downtown square, its beautifully restored homes, and the famous |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Hood County Courthouse; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Granbury and Hood County are both known for their |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | agribusiness, with hay, peanuts, and pecans among their most |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | notable crops, and the area's economy is further driven by natural |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | gas production and tourism; over the years, Granbury has developed |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | a reputation for its excellent celebrations and numerous festivals, |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | which draw visitors from all across the country; moreover, the |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Granbury Opera House and the New Granbury Live, as well as many |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | other local venues, provide an amazing array of music throughout |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | the week; and |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | WHEREAS, Hood County is a unique and fascinating part of the |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Lone Star State, and it is a pleasure to join in honoring its |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | citizens for working to preserve their rich history while they |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | build an even brighter future for the area they call home; now, |
|---|

| 29 | 29 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |

| 30 | 30 | | Legislature hereby recognize February 2, 2023, as Hood County Day |
