H.R. No. 1063
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Cleburne Regional Airport has received the 2023
Project of the Year award in the National/Regional Airport category
from the Texas Department of Transportation; and
WHEREAS, Established in the early 1960s, Cleburne Regional
Airport features a runway spanning 5,700 feet in length and 100 feet
in width and supports aircraft as large as business jets; recently,
the airport underwent an extensive renovation project to repair
damage to the runway and taxiways and to improve safety; and
WHEREAS, The project involved a full-depth reclamation of the
entire runway as well as a crack seal and emulsion treatment on the
runway surface; other updates included full-depth reclamations of
two taxiways, infield grading, and the installation of new taxiway
edge lights; while the improvements were being carried out, the
parallel taxiway was used as a runway to serve local traffic and
accommodate pilot training; and
WHEREAS, The renovation project was completed on time and
under budget, with the final contract amount totaling some $5
million; moreover, the project served as an inspiring example of
community partnership as it fostered collaboration between the City
of Cleburne, TxDOT Aviation, and engineering and contracting
services; and
WHEREAS, The investments made in Cleburne Regional Airport
have greatly enhanced its reputation as a hub for transportation
and commerce, and its receipt of this notable award is indeed well
deserved; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Cleburne Regional Airport on
receiving the 2023 Project of the Year award in the
National/Regional Airport category from the Texas Department of
Transportation and extend to all those associated with the facility
sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Cleburne Regional Airport as an expression of high
regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
