| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Christ Episcopal School in Nacogdoches is marking |

| 6 | 6 | | the 75th anniversary of its founding in 2023; and |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | WHEREAS, The school traces its origins back to 1948, when the |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | Reverend Scott Field Baily, then the rector of Christ Episcopal |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | Church, established Christ Episcopal Day School; the first |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | Protestant private school in Nacogdoches, the institution only had |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | a kindergarten program when it first opened, with a prekindergarten |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | program and first-grade class added soon after; initially |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | accredited in 1973, the school operates within the Episcopal |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Diocese of Texas; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Under the leadership of the head of school, |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Catherine Fenci Oliver, Christ Episcopal School currently provides |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | a comprehensive Christian education to three-year-olds through |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | fifth-graders; the modern campus features a separate preschool |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | building as well as a library, a computer lab, art and music rooms, |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | a multi-purpose room, and administrative offices; and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, For three-quarters of a century, the faculty and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | staff of Christ Episcopal School have dedicated themselves to |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | meeting the educational needs of their students, and the school has |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | played a vital role in helping many young Texans build a bright and |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | fulfilling future; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | Legislature hereby commemorate the 75th anniversary of Christ |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | Episcopal School and extend to all those associated with the school |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | prepared for Christ Episcopal School as an expression of high |
|---|
