55 WHEREAS, Elizabeth Chapman has been named the 2022-2023
66 Teacher of the Year at Bellaire High School; and
77 WHEREAS, A solid education is vital for young people to
88 become successful and productive adults, and those men and women
99 who dedicate their careers to teaching make a positive difference
1010 in the lives of their students and in the greater community; and
1111 WHEREAS, Ms. Chapman has worked as an educator for 17 years,
1212 and she currently teaches English to freshmen and seniors at
1313 Bellaire High; throughout her decade-long tenure at the school, she
1414 has demonstrated an outstanding commitment to her students and
1515 distinguished herself as a caring and supportive mentor; alongside
1616 her duties in the classroom, she serves as the study abroad
1717 coordinator, club coordinator, and chair of the English department;
1818 and
1919 WHEREAS, Elizabeth Chapman exemplifies the passion,
2020 determination, and innovative spirit that are the hallmarks of our
2121 best teachers, and she has set a standard of excellence to which all
2222 in her profession may aspire; now, therefore, be it
2323 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
2424 Legislature hereby congratulate Elizabeth Chapman on her selection
2525 as the 2022-2023 Teacher of the Year at Bellaire High School and
2626 extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success with her
2727 important work; and, be it further
2828 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2929 prepared for Ms. Chapman as an expression of high regard by the
3030 Texas House of Representatives.
