| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Elizabeth Chapman has been named the 2022-2023 |

| 6 | 6 | | Teacher of the Year at Bellaire High School; and |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | WHEREAS, A solid education is vital for young people to |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | become successful and productive adults, and those men and women |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | who dedicate their careers to teaching make a positive difference |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | in the lives of their students and in the greater community; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, Ms. Chapman has worked as an educator for 17 years, |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | and she currently teaches English to freshmen and seniors at |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Bellaire High; throughout her decade-long tenure at the school, she |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | has demonstrated an outstanding commitment to her students and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | distinguished herself as a caring and supportive mentor; alongside |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | her duties in the classroom, she serves as the study abroad |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | coordinator, club coordinator, and chair of the English department; |
|---|

| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, Elizabeth Chapman exemplifies the passion, |

| 20 | 20 | | determination, and innovative spirit that are the hallmarks of our |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | best teachers, and she has set a standard of excellence to which all |

| 22 | 22 | | in her profession may aspire; now, therefore, be it |

| 23 | 23 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |

| 24 | 24 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Elizabeth Chapman on her selection |

| 25 | 25 | | as the 2022-2023 Teacher of the Year at Bellaire High School and |

| 26 | 26 | | extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success with her |
