H.R. No. 1105 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, R. Jack Cagle concluded his service as Precinct 4 commissioner for the Harris County Commissioners Court in 2022; and WHEREAS, First taking office in 2011, Jack Cagle was reelected in 2014 and 2018; over the course of his tenure, he demonstrated a deep concern for his community while representing nearly 1.3 million residents and managing a staff of 445 employees; and WHEREAS, Mr. Cagle further benefited his fellow residents during his 11 years as judge of Harris County Civil Court at Law No. 1; he took an active role in his professional community, holding leadership positions with the Texas Association of County Court at Law Judges and the Association of Women Attorneys; moreover, he served on the board of the Houston-Galveston Area Council and the Public Power Pool, and he was a Republican precinct chair; he has received numerous honors for his accomplishments, including an award from the Mexican-American Bar Association of Houston; and WHEREAS, Mr. Cagle holds a bachelor's degree in history, economics, and managerial studies from Rice University and a doctor of jurisprudence degree from Baylor School of Law; in all his endeavors, he enjoys the love and support of his wife, Janet, and he takes great pride in their three children, Richard, Victoria, and Elizabeth; and WHEREAS, Through his dedicated leadership and commitment to good governance, Jack Cagle has contributed immeasurably to Harris County, and he has earned the lasting respect and appreciation of his fellow citizens; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas Legislature hereby commend R. Jack Cagle for his service as Harris County commissioner for Precinct 4 and extend to him sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. Cagle as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
