5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, R. Jack Cagle concluded his service as Precinct 4 |

6 | 6 | | commissioner for the Harris County Commissioners Court in 2022; and |

7 | 7 | | WHEREAS, First taking office in 2011, Jack Cagle was |
---|
8 | 8 | | reelected in 2014 and 2018; over the course of his tenure, he |
---|
9 | 9 | | demonstrated a deep concern for his community while representing |
---|
10 | 10 | | nearly 1.3 million residents and managing a staff of 445 employees; |
---|
11 | 11 | | and |
---|
12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Cagle further benefited his fellow residents |
---|
13 | 13 | | during his 11 years as judge of Harris County Civil Court at Law |
---|
14 | 14 | | No. 1; he took an active role in his professional community, |
---|
15 | 15 | | holding leadership positions with the Texas Association of County |
---|
16 | 16 | | Court at Law Judges and the Association of Women Attorneys; |
---|
17 | 17 | | moreover, he served on the board of the Houston-Galveston Area |
---|
18 | 18 | | Council and the Public Power Pool, and he was a Republican precinct |
---|
19 | 19 | | chair; he has received numerous honors for his accomplishments, |
---|
20 | 20 | | including an award from the Mexican-American Bar Association of |
---|
21 | 21 | | Houston; and |
---|
22 | 22 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Cagle holds a bachelor's degree in history, |
---|
23 | 23 | | economics, and managerial studies from Rice University and a doctor |
---|
24 | 24 | | of jurisprudence degree from Baylor School of Law; in all his |
---|
25 | 25 | | endeavors, he enjoys the love and support of his wife, Janet, and he |
---|
26 | 26 | | takes great pride in their three children, Richard, Victoria, and |
---|
27 | 27 | | Elizabeth; and |
---|
28 | 28 | | WHEREAS, Through his dedicated leadership and commitment to |
---|
29 | 29 | | good governance, Jack Cagle has contributed immeasurably to Harris |
---|
30 | 30 | | County, and he has earned the lasting respect and appreciation of |
---|
31 | 31 | | his fellow citizens; now, therefore, be it |
---|
32 | 32 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
---|
33 | 33 | | Legislature hereby commend R. Jack Cagle for his service as Harris |
---|
34 | 34 | | County commissioner for Precinct 4 and extend to him sincere best |
