44 R E S O L U T I O N
55 WHEREAS, R. Jack Cagle concluded his service as Precinct 4
66 commissioner for the Harris County Commissioners Court in 2022; and
77 WHEREAS, First taking office in 2011, Jack Cagle was
88 reelected in 2014 and 2018; over the course of his tenure, he
99 demonstrated a deep concern for his community while representing
1010 nearly 1.3 million residents and managing a staff of 445 employees;
1111 and
1212 WHEREAS, Mr. Cagle further benefited his fellow residents
1313 during his 11 years as judge of Harris County Civil Court at Law
1414 No. 1; he took an active role in his professional community,
1515 holding leadership positions with the Texas Association of County
1616 Court at Law Judges and the Association of Women Attorneys;
1717 moreover, he served on the board of the Houston-Galveston Area
1818 Council and the Public Power Pool, and he was a Republican precinct
1919 chair; he has received numerous honors for his accomplishments,
2020 including an award from the Mexican-American Bar Association of
2121 Houston; and
2222 WHEREAS, Mr. Cagle holds a bachelor's degree in history,
2323 economics, and managerial studies from Rice University and a doctor
2424 of jurisprudence degree from Baylor School of Law; in all his
2525 endeavors, he enjoys the love and support of his wife, Janet, and he
2626 takes great pride in their three children, Richard, Victoria, and
2727 Elizabeth; and
2828 WHEREAS, Through his dedicated leadership and commitment to
2929 good governance, Jack Cagle has contributed immeasurably to Harris
3030 County, and he has earned the lasting respect and appreciation of
3131 his fellow citizens; now, therefore, be it
3232 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
3333 Legislature hereby commend R. Jack Cagle for his service as Harris
3434 County commissioner for Precinct 4 and extend to him sincere best
3535 wishes for the future; and, be it further
3636 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3737 prepared for Mr. Cagle as an expression of high regard by the Texas
3838 House of Representatives.
