| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives is pleased to |

| 6 | 6 | | recognize the Bob Bullock Scholars Program of Baylor University and |

| 7 | 7 | | this year's participants in the initiative; and |

| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Established in 2000 to honor the memory of |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | Lieutenant Governor Bob Bullock, this exemplary program promotes |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | the study of politics among Baylor University students; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, Each participant in the program works for a House or |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | Senate member on a full-time basis during the legislative session |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | to learn firsthand about Texas government; the Bob Bullock Scholars |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Program is a model for those who seek to serve others through a |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | career in public service; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Patrick J Flavin, the Bob Bullock Professor of |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | Public Policy and Administration at Baylor University, has served |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | as the director of the program since 2021; and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, The 10 Bob Bullock Scholars participating in the |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | 2023 session of the Texas Legislature are: Allie Barnett with |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Senator Brian Birdwell, Caden Betancourt with Representative Jeff |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | Leach, Mika'ele Castro with Senator Mayes Middleton, Hayden |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | Cottrell with Representative Mary E. González, Paige Hoefer with |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | Senator Royce West, Audrey La with Representative Gene Wu, Anabelle |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Snyder with Senator Robert Nichols, Gabe Solano with Senator |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | Brandon Creighton, Rhayne Trahan with Representative Chris Turner, |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | and Morné Wolmarans with Senator Drew Springer, Jr.; and |

| 28 | 28 | | WHEREAS, These public-spirited students are to be commended |
