| 11 | 11 | | practiced by cultural communities across Texas; grant awards |

| 12 | 12 | | provide skilled artists and their apprentices with the time and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | resources necessary to immerse themselves in their craft; and |

| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, The 2023 artist teams reflect the richness of the |

| 15 | 15 | | state's cultural diversity; Jacques Houston is mentoring DaLyah |

| 16 | 16 | | Jones of Houston in the art of trail riding, and mentor Sonny Mehta |

| 17 | 17 | | is teaching Rishabh Lamsal of Houston the intricacies of qawwali, a |

| 18 | 18 | | Sufi devotional music genre; and |

| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, Advancing the art of Americana Folk guitar, Michael |

| 20 | 20 | | Sinks is mentoring Arieon Keller of Pampa, while Chayito Champion |

| 21 | 21 | | is pairing with apprentice Keli Rosa Cabunoc Romero of San Antonio |

| 22 | 22 | | to explore the connections between Son Jarocho and Flamenco music |
|---|
