| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Members of the Arlington Renegades XFL football team |

| 6 | 6 | | are visiting the State Capitol on April 18, 2023, providing a |

| 7 | 7 | | fitting opportunity to honor the team as it makes history with its |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | inaugural season; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, The first professional sports franchise to have |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | "Arlington" in its name, the Renegades are one of eight teams |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | playing in the XFL, which returned to action in 2023 after ceasing |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | operation at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic; the team, |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | which was previously known as the Dallas Renegades, plays its home |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | games at Choctaw Stadium; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, The Renegades opened their debut season at home on |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | February 18; demonstrating remarkable skill and determination, the |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | team captured a 22-20 victory over the Las Vegas Vipers, thrilling a |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | crowd of more than 12,000 fans; the Renegade players are ably guided |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | by celebrated head coach Bob Stoops and the members of his staff; |

| 21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Dedicated to giving back, the organization is |

| 22 | 22 | | already serving as a positive force in the community; on the |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | occasion of the Martin Luther King Jr. National Day of Service, |

| 24 | 24 | | Renegade players volunteered at Mission Arlington and Coach Stoops |

| 25 | 25 | | helped deliver meals to local families in need; other events have |

| 26 | 26 | | included a cookie distribution event in conjunction with the Girl |

| 27 | 27 | | Scouts of Texas and Oklahoma and visits to the Scottish Rite for |

| 28 | 28 | | Children hospital in addition to several opportunities for fans to |

| 29 | 29 | | meet and interact with players; and |

| 30 | 30 | | WHEREAS, The arrival of XFL football in Arlington marks the |

| 31 | 31 | | beginning of an exciting new chapter for the city, and it is a |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | pleasure to join all those associated with the Renegades in |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | commemorating the team's first year in its new hometown; now, |
