5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, U.S. Army Chief Warrant Officer 5 Carlo Davis |

6 | 6 | | retired from the Fort Hood 1st Cavalry Division on March 3, 2023, |

7 | 7 | | concluding an exceptional military career that spanned more than |
---|
8 | 8 | | three decades; and |
---|
9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Carlo Davis rose through the ranks from private to |
---|
10 | 10 | | sergeant first class before attending the warrant officer basic |
---|
11 | 11 | | course; he has served the army in many capacities, including as |
---|
12 | 12 | | battalion and battery operations sergeant, platoon sergeant, and |
---|
13 | 13 | | battalion chief fire control sergeant; some of his other titles |
---|
14 | 14 | | included field artillery intelligence officer and brigade and |
---|
15 | 15 | | division targeting officer, and he was an instructor/writer at the |
---|
16 | 16 | | Field Artillery School; on November 30, 2018, he was promoted to |
---|
17 | 17 | | chief warrant officer 5, the highest warrant officer rank in the |
---|
18 | 18 | | U.S. Army, which is appointed by the Secretary of the Army; only a |
---|
19 | 19 | | small fraction of officers receive this rare honor; and |
---|
20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Among his military assignments, Mr. Davis completed |
---|
21 | 21 | | two tours at Fort Hood, four tours at Fort Sill, Oklahoma, and five |
---|
22 | 22 | | overseas tours to Korea; moreover, he was deployed to Kuwait and to |
---|
23 | 23 | | Iraq, and he also served with the 25th Infantry Division in |
---|
24 | 24 | | Afghanistan; and |
---|
25 | 25 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Davis earned Veterans of Foreign Wars |
---|
26 | 26 | | eligibility while serving in Korea as a member of the 2nd Infantry |
---|
27 | 27 | | Division; he was later named commander of VFW Post No. 9191 in |
---|
28 | 28 | | Killeen; in all his endeavors, he has enjoyed the love and support |
---|
29 | 29 | | of his wife, Lee Ann, and their five children; and |
---|
30 | 30 | | WHEREAS, Demonstrating an exceptional commitment to the |
---|
31 | 31 | | mission of the U.S. Army, Carlo Davis has greatly benefited his |
---|
32 | 32 | | fellow citizens, and he may indeed reflect with pride on his |
---|
33 | 33 | | outstanding record of service as he embarks on the next exciting |
---|
34 | 34 | | chapter of his life; now, therefore, be it |
---|
35 | 35 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |

36 | 36 | | Legislature hereby congratulate U.S. Army Chief Warrant Officer 5 |
