44 R E S O L U T I O N
55 WHEREAS, U.S. Army Chief Warrant Officer 5 Carlo Davis
66 retired from the Fort Hood 1st Cavalry Division on March 3, 2023,
77 concluding an exceptional military career that spanned more than
88 three decades; and
99 WHEREAS, Carlo Davis rose through the ranks from private to
1010 sergeant first class before attending the warrant officer basic
1111 course; he has served the army in many capacities, including as
1212 battalion and battery operations sergeant, platoon sergeant, and
1313 battalion chief fire control sergeant; some of his other titles
1414 included field artillery intelligence officer and brigade and
1515 division targeting officer, and he was an instructor/writer at the
1616 Field Artillery School; on November 30, 2018, he was promoted to
1717 chief warrant officer 5, the highest warrant officer rank in the
1818 U.S. Army, which is appointed by the Secretary of the Army; only a
1919 small fraction of officers receive this rare honor; and
2020 WHEREAS, Among his military assignments, Mr. Davis completed
2121 two tours at Fort Hood, four tours at Fort Sill, Oklahoma, and five
2222 overseas tours to Korea; moreover, he was deployed to Kuwait and to
2323 Iraq, and he also served with the 25th Infantry Division in
2424 Afghanistan; and
2525 WHEREAS, Mr. Davis earned Veterans of Foreign Wars
2626 eligibility while serving in Korea as a member of the 2nd Infantry
2727 Division; he was later named commander of VFW Post No. 9191 in
2828 Killeen; in all his endeavors, he has enjoyed the love and support
2929 of his wife, Lee Ann, and their five children; and
3030 WHEREAS, Demonstrating an exceptional commitment to the
3131 mission of the U.S. Army, Carlo Davis has greatly benefited his
3232 fellow citizens, and he may indeed reflect with pride on his
3333 outstanding record of service as he embarks on the next exciting
3434 chapter of his life; now, therefore, be it
3535 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
3636 Legislature hereby congratulate U.S. Army Chief Warrant Officer 5
3737 Carlo Davis on his retirement from the Fort Hood 1st Cavalry
3838 Division and extend to him sincere best wishes for the future; and,
3939 be it further
4040 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
4141 prepared for Carlo Davis as an expression of high regard by the
4242 Texas House of Representatives.
