| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Michael Evanko Douglas of El Dorado High School in |

| 7 | 7 | | Mentor Teacher Award from The University of Texas at El Paso College |

| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Each year, the Lavis Mentor Teacher Awards are |

| 10 | 10 | | presented to a select number of educators who have excelled in their |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | duties and who have provided valuable guidance and support to UTEP |

| 12 | 12 | | teacher candidates; as a 2023 honoree, Mr. Douglas was awarded |

| 13 | 13 | | $2,500 and was celebrated at the annual College of Education |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Recognition Event on March 30; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Public education is an endeavor in which all Texans |

| 16 | 16 | | have a stake, and through his tireless efforts, Michael Evanko |

| 17 | 17 | | Douglas is helping to further the professional development of the |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | next generation of teachers in the Lone Star State; now, therefore, |

| 20 | 20 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |

| 21 | 21 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Michael Evanko Douglas on |
