| 7 | 7 | | celebrate Texas State Technical College Day at the State Capitol; |

| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Established in 1965, Texas State Technical College |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | is a two-year technical training institution focused on advanced |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | and emerging technologies; TSTC offers numerous associate's |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | degrees and certificates across a variety of program areas to |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | assist in developing a job-ready workforce; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, TSTC boasts 10 campuses across the state, including |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | locations in Abilene, Breckenridge, Brownwood, Fort Bend County, |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Harlingen, Marshall, North Texas, Sweetwater, Waco, and Williamson |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | County; through the years, the college has seen an increase in |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | overall enrollment, awards conferred, and job placements, and it |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | has adopted an accountability-based model in which funds received |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | by the school are determined by student earnings and associated |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | state tax revenues; and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | WHEREAS, Texas State Technical College provides Texans with |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | the opportunity to attain leading-edge technical skills and |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | knowledge, to the great benefit of the students, their families, |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | and the State of Texas, and it is indeed fitting to recognize the |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | school for its contributions to the economic advancement of the |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | Lone Star State; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | Legislature hereby recognize April 19, 2023, as Texas State |

| 30 | 30 | | Technical College Day at the State Capitol and extend a warm welcome |
