H.R. No. 1173
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Hailey Aul of Sharyland Pioneer High School closed
out her senior year of competition in triumphant fashion, winning a
state title at the 2023 Texas High School Women's Powerlifting
Association 5A Division II State Championships; and
WHEREAS, Joining the other top high school lifters in Texas
at the state meet in Frisco on March 18, Ms. Aul delivered an
exceptional performance in the 105-pound weight class; hoisting 295
pounds in the squat, 165 pounds in the bench press, and 290 pounds
in the dead lift, she racked up 750 total pounds to clinch the state
crown; moreover, her victory helped the Diamondbacks capture fourth
place in the team standings; and
WHEREAS, The daughter of Rick and Lisa Cantu of Mission,
Hailey Aul has been a member of the Sharyland Pioneer powerlifting
team for four years; during her junior year of competition, she
collected the silver medal in her weight division at the 2022 state
meet; and
WHEREAS, Winning a state championship represents the
culmination of countless hours of hard work and an unwavering
commitment to excellence, and Hailey Aul may indeed reflect with
pride on this outstanding accomplishment; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Hailey Aul on winning the state
title in the 105-pound weight class at the 2023 THSWPA 5A Division
II State Championships and extend to her sincere best wishes for the
future; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Aul as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
