| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Taylor Mersmann of Rock Hill High School in the |

| 6 | 6 | | Prosper Independent School District has received a 2022 Pathfinder |

| 7 | 7 | | Award from the Texas Association of Journalism Educators; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Each year, TAJE presents Pathfinder Awards to |

| 9 | 9 | | educators with seven or fewer years of teaching experience who have |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | distinguished themselves as rising stars in their profession; |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | Ms. Mersmann was honored for her outstanding leadership and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | dedication to public service; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, After joining the faculty of Prosper ISD, |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Ms. Mersmann worked at Rogers Middle School for six years and Hays |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Middle School for a year; she currently teaches journalism at Rock |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Hill High School, where she has also led the media team; she holds a |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | bachelor's degree in education from Texas State University and a |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | master's degree in technology education from Texas A&M University; |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | and |

| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Taylor Mersmann has greatly enriched the lives of |

| 21 | 21 | | many young Texans through her passion for teaching and her |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | extraordinary expertise in journalism, and she is truly deserving |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | of this prestigious honor; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Taylor Mersmann on receiving the |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | Pathfinder Award from the Texas Association of Journalism Educators |

| 27 | 27 | | and extend to her sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it |
