44 R E S O L U T I O N
55 WHEREAS, Taylor Mersmann of Rock Hill High School in the
66 Prosper Independent School District has received a 2022 Pathfinder
77 Award from the Texas Association of Journalism Educators; and
88 WHEREAS, Each year, TAJE presents Pathfinder Awards to
99 educators with seven or fewer years of teaching experience who have
1010 distinguished themselves as rising stars in their profession;
1111 Ms. Mersmann was honored for her outstanding leadership and
1212 dedication to public service; and
1313 WHEREAS, After joining the faculty of Prosper ISD,
1414 Ms. Mersmann worked at Rogers Middle School for six years and Hays
1515 Middle School for a year; she currently teaches journalism at Rock
1616 Hill High School, where she has also led the media team; she holds a
1717 bachelor's degree in education from Texas State University and a
1818 master's degree in technology education from Texas A&M University;
1919 and
2020 WHEREAS, Taylor Mersmann has greatly enriched the lives of
2121 many young Texans through her passion for teaching and her
2222 extraordinary expertise in journalism, and she is truly deserving
2323 of this prestigious honor; now, therefore, be it
2424 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
2525 Legislature hereby congratulate Taylor Mersmann on receiving the
2626 Pathfinder Award from the Texas Association of Journalism Educators
2727 and extend to her sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it
2828 further
2929 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3030 prepared for Ms. Mersmann as an expression of high regard by the
3131 Texas House of Representatives.
