| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Raudel Garza has been named the new executive |

| 6 | 6 | | director of the Edinburg Economic Development Corporation; and |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | WHEREAS, Assuming his new role in November 2023, Mr. Garza |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | will be responsible for helping EEDC coordinate, develop, and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | manage incentives and programs to attract businesses to the |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | Edinburg area; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Garza has acquired a wealth of valuable |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | knowledge and experience during his nearly three decades in the |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | field of economic development; working in both the public and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | private sectors, he has led the Rio South Texas Economic Council as |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | well as economic development teams in Harlingen, Mission, and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Pharr; moreover, he has served on the Texas Workforce Commission |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | Regional Workforce Planning Committee, and he has benefited the |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | Texas Economic Development Council as a member of its board of |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | directors and as a representative on its Team Texas Advisory |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | Committee; among his honors, he has received Economic Excellence |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Recognition from TEDC; and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | WHEREAS, Throughout his career, Raudel Garza has upheld the |

| 23 | 23 | | highest standards of his profession, and he is sure to bring to his |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | new position equal commitment and energy; now, therefore, be it |

| 25 | 25 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |

| 26 | 26 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Raudel Garza on his selection as |

| 27 | 27 | | executive director of the Edinburg Economic Development |

| 28 | 28 | | Corporation and extend to him sincere best wishes for a successful |
