H.R. No. 1205 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Ashika Ganguly of Austin is receiving her master's degree in education policy and planning from The University of Texas at Austin in May 2023; and WHEREAS, A 2016 graduate of UT Austin, Ms. Ganguly earned her bachelor's degree in applied learning and development; she taught fifth grade STEM subjects in the Austin Independent School District for five years, and her experiences led her to pursue advanced studies in order to help shape policy affecting children in vulnerable communities; and WHEREAS, Ms. Ganguly's research interests include gifted education access for underserved populations, teacher retention and recruitment, and disruption of the school to prison pipeline; as an Archer Fellow, she completed a policy internship in Washington, D.C.; and WHEREAS, During her studies, Ms. Ganguly worked as a graduate assistant in the UT Office of the Dean of Students, developing leadership curriculum for undergrads; she currently serves as legislative director for State Representative John Bucy and as his office's point of contact for education matters; in her free time, she enjoys fitness activities, trying new recipes, and spending time with friends and her treasured canine companion, Rani; and WHEREAS, Dedicated to expanding and improving educational opportunities for all, Ashika Ganguly has demonstrated exceptional initiative in pursuing her academic and career goals, and she may indeed look forward to a future bright with promise; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Ashika Ganguly on receiving her master's degree in education policy and planning from The University of Texas at Austin and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Ms. Ganguly as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
