| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Gary Gardner has been selected as the 2023 State |

| 6 | 6 | | Wildlife Conservationist of the Year by the Association of Texas |

| 7 | 7 | | Soil and Water Conservation Districts and the Texas State Soil and |

| 8 | 8 | | Water Conservation Board; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Each year, ATSWCD and TSSWCB recognize individuals |

| 10 | 10 | | for their steadfast commitment to the conservation and management |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | of renewable natural resources; the state honorees in each category |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | are chosen out of entries from across Texas; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Gardner was nominated for the State Wildlife |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Conservationist of the Year award by the Upper Llanos Soil and Water |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Conservation District in Junction; he will be presented with the |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | accolade and honored for his achievements at the 83rd Annual |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | Meeting of Texas State Soil and Water Conservation District |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | Directors in Fort Worth later this year; and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, Gary Gardner has distinguished himself through his |

| 20 | 20 | | valuable contributions to wildlife conservation in the Lone Star |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | State, and he is truly deserving of special recognition for his |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | efforts; now, therefore, be it |

| 23 | 23 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |

| 24 | 24 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Gary Gardner on being selected as |

| 25 | 25 | | the 2023 State Wildlife Conservationist of the Year by the |

| 26 | 26 | | Association of Texas Soil and Water Conservation Districts and the |

| 27 | 27 | | Texas State Soil and Water Conservation Board and extend to him |
