| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Family and friends will forever cherish their |

| 6 | 6 | | memories of Leone Drugan Ivey of El Paso, who passed away on |

| 7 | 7 | | December 1, 2022, at the age of 93; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Born on December 21, 1928, in Miami, Arizona, Leone |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | Ivey attended Ysleta High School in El Paso; she participated in the |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | Newman Club as a student and met her future husband, Benjamin Lee |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | Ivey, at a Newman Club hayride; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, The couple went on to enjoy a rewarding marriage |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | that spanned 54 years, and they became the proud parents of 14 |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | children, Laurie, Ben, Tommy, Dennis, David, Brian, Chris, Mark, |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Marty, Mary, Adrienne, Matthew, Patrick, and Michael; with the |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | passing years, Mrs. Ivey had the privilege of welcoming 25 |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, and a |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | great-great-grandchild into her family; and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, A woman of faith, Mrs. Ivey served as altar society |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | president at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church and held |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | membership with the Catholic Daughters of the Americas Our Lady of |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | the Desert Court No. 2236; and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | WHEREAS, Leone Ivey lived a full and generous life surrounded |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | by those she loved, and they will forever carry her close in their |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | hearts; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Leone Drugan Ivey |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | and extend sincere condolences to all who mourn her passing; and, be |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | it further |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |

| 31 | 31 | | prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of |
