5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, A full and generous life drew to a close with the |
---|
6 | 6 | | passing of Evangelina Macias of Clint on March 4, 2022, at the age |
---|
7 | 7 | | of 88; and |
---|
8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, The daughter of Seferino and Francisca Rodrighez, |
---|
9 | 9 | | the former Vangie Rodrighez was born on February 1, 1934, and grew |
---|
10 | 10 | | up with six siblings, Chole, Lucy, Emma, Pavi, Ruben, and Locha; she |
---|
11 | 11 | | married the love of her life, Frank Macias, and they were blessed |
---|
12 | 12 | | with five children, Irma, Frank, Irene, Eddie, and Cathy; and |
---|
13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, Mrs. Macias devoted herself to her family; she |
---|
14 | 14 | | created a home full of love, and she was a wonderful cook; sustained |
---|
15 | 15 | | by a strong faith, she was a very active member of San Lorenzo |
---|
16 | 16 | | Catholic Church; she was always ready to help those in need; |
---|
17 | 17 | | dedicated to her community and to public education, she volunteered |
---|
18 | 18 | | extensively for the Clint Independent School District and served on |
---|
19 | 19 | | the school board; and |
---|
20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Through the years, Mrs. Macias knew the joy of |
---|
21 | 21 | | welcoming into her treasured family 11 grandchildren, Lisa, Adrian, |
---|
22 | 22 | | David, Josh, Ruben, Michael, Richie, Cassie, Jessie, Emily, and |
---|
23 | 23 | | Matthew; they were her pride and joy, and she was very involved in |
---|
24 | 24 | | their upbringing; she later became the "bestest" great-grandmother |
---|
25 | 25 | | to Landon, Isabelle, Adriana, David, Madison, Xavier, Dominic, |
---|
26 | 26 | | Micah, Ian, Ethan, Barrett, and Jaxon; in addition, she was "Tia |
---|
27 | 27 | | Vanje" to her numerous nieces and nephews and a dear sister to her |
---|
28 | 28 | | husband's siblings, Margie, Bennie, Mary, Esequiel, and Tere; she |
---|
29 | 29 | | had a very special bond with her surviving sister, Locha, and her |
---|
30 | 30 | | brother-in-law, Ernest Vigil; and |
---|
31 | 31 | | WHEREAS, Although Vangie Macias is deeply missed, those who |
---|
32 | 32 | | held her dear will forever remember the warmth and kindness she |
---|
33 | 33 | | brought into their lives, and her commitment to her loved ones and |
---|
34 | 34 | | her community will remain a source of inspiration; now, therefore, |
---|
35 | 35 | | be it |

36 | 36 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |

37 | 37 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Evangelina Macias and |

38 | 38 | | extend sincere condolences to her family and friends; and, be it |
