44 R E S O L U T I O N
55 WHEREAS, A full and generous life drew to a close with the
66 passing of Evangelina Macias of Clint on March 4, 2022, at the age
77 of 88; and
88 WHEREAS, The daughter of Seferino and Francisca Rodrighez,
99 the former Vangie Rodrighez was born on February 1, 1934, and grew
1010 up with six siblings, Chole, Lucy, Emma, Pavi, Ruben, and Locha; she
1111 married the love of her life, Frank Macias, and they were blessed
1212 with five children, Irma, Frank, Irene, Eddie, and Cathy; and
1313 WHEREAS, Mrs. Macias devoted herself to her family; she
1414 created a home full of love, and she was a wonderful cook; sustained
1515 by a strong faith, she was a very active member of San Lorenzo
1616 Catholic Church; she was always ready to help those in need;
1717 dedicated to her community and to public education, she volunteered
1818 extensively for the Clint Independent School District and served on
1919 the school board; and
2020 WHEREAS, Through the years, Mrs. Macias knew the joy of
2121 welcoming into her treasured family 11 grandchildren, Lisa, Adrian,
2222 David, Josh, Ruben, Michael, Richie, Cassie, Jessie, Emily, and
2323 Matthew; they were her pride and joy, and she was very involved in
2424 their upbringing; she later became the "bestest" great-grandmother
2525 to Landon, Isabelle, Adriana, David, Madison, Xavier, Dominic,
2626 Micah, Ian, Ethan, Barrett, and Jaxon; in addition, she was "Tia
2727 Vanje" to her numerous nieces and nephews and a dear sister to her
2828 husband's siblings, Margie, Bennie, Mary, Esequiel, and Tere; she
2929 had a very special bond with her surviving sister, Locha, and her
3030 brother-in-law, Ernest Vigil; and
3131 WHEREAS, Although Vangie Macias is deeply missed, those who
3232 held her dear will forever remember the warmth and kindness she
3333 brought into their lives, and her commitment to her loved ones and
3434 her community will remain a source of inspiration; now, therefore,
3535 be it
3636 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
3737 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Evangelina Macias and
3838 extend sincere condolences to her family and friends; and, be it
3939 further
4040 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
4141 prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
4242 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Vangie
4343 Macias.
