| 7 | 7 | | at the U.S. National Chemistry Olympiad held at St. Mary's |

| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Sponsored by the American Chemical Society, the |

| 10 | 10 | | Chemistry Olympiad is a multitiered competition designed to foster |

| 11 | 11 | | interest and promote achievement in high school chemistry; all high |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | school students are invited to participate in local Chemistry |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Olympiad competitions, and the top performers at the local level |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | advance to the National Chemistry Olympiad Exam, which is |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | administered to more than 1,000 students from across the country; |

| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, With his first-place finish at the local contest at |

| 18 | 18 | | St. Mary's University, Billy Braun joined a select group of |

| 19 | 19 | | talented young men and women who qualified to compete in the |

| 21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, This impressive young Texan has won great |

| 22 | 22 | | distinction for himself and his school, and the skill, discipline, |

| 23 | 23 | | and determination he has demonstrated are certain to serve him well |

| 24 | 24 | | in the years to come; now, therefore, be it |

| 25 | 25 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |

| 26 | 26 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Billy Braun on placing first in the |
