| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Eddy Betancourt was reappointed to the Texas |

| 6 | 6 | | Facilities Commission on April 14, 2023; and |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | WHEREAS, The Texas Facilities Commission builds, supports, |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | maintains, and manages more than 28 million square feet of |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | state-owned and leased facilities that house over 62,000 state |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | employees in over 100 state agencies, all working in the service of |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | the citizens of Texas; Mr. Betancourt was first named to the |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | commission in 2020, and he was reappointed by Governor Greg Abbott |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | to a term that expires on January 31, 2029; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, A leader in the business community, Mr. Betancourt |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | is president of R & B General Construction Co., and he is co-owner |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | and president of National Tire and Wheel and a general retail |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | partner manager for E2H Investments; he also serves on the Hidalgo |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | County Appraisal District board of directors and the Enactus |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | advisory board, and he is a member of the McAllen Board of Realtors |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | and the National Association of Realtors; and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Betancourt holds a bachelor's degree in |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | marketing and international business studies from The University of |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | Texas-Pan American; and |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | WHEREAS, The skill, professionalism, and commitment to |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | excellence demonstrated by Eddy Betancourt have made him an |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | important asset to the Texas Facilities Commission, and his |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | continued service is greatly appreciated by his colleagues and his |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | fellow Texans; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Eddy Betancourt on his |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | reappointment to the Texas Facilities Commission and extend to him |
