 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Lynn Moak has demonstrated an outstanding
 commitment to improving public education in Texas, and he is indeed
 deserving of special recognition for his many contributions; and
 WHEREAS, Mr. Moak enjoyed a rewarding career as a managing
 partner of public school consulting firm Moak Casey that spanned 24
 years before his retirement in 2022, and he continues to serve the
 organization as a consultant; over the course of his tenure with the
 firm, he has played an instrumental role in numerous education
 finance policy changes and has developed research for major cases
 involving public school finance; and
 WHEREAS, Respected in his profession, Mr. Moak has held
 senior staff positions with the Texas Education Agency, the Texas
 State Comptroller's Office, and the Texas Lieutenant Governor's
 Office; he has served on the boards of the National Education
 Finance Academy and the Association for Education Finance and
 Policy and been involved with the Government Finance Officers
 Association, the Association of School Business Officials, and the
 American Educational Research Association; in addition, he has been
 a member of the Paramount Theatre advisory council and the Lady Bird
 Johnson Wildflower Center's Lady Bird Society; among his honors, he
 has received a NEFA Lifetime Achievement Award and a Region 4
 Education Service Center Superintendent's Award; and
 WHEREAS, Mr. Moak holds a bachelor's degree from The
 University of Texas at Austin, where he also pursued graduate
 studies; and
 WHEREAS, Public education is an endeavor of vital importance
 to the continued prosperity of the Lone Star State, and through his
 wide-ranging expertise in finance and public policy, Lynn Moak has
 made valuable contributions to school districts all across Texas;
 now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
 Legislature hereby commend Lynn Moak for his efforts to further
 public education in Texas and extend to him sincere best wishes for
 the future; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Mr. Moak as an expression of high regard by the Texas
 House of Representatives.
