| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Billy Streu has received the MSW Outstanding Field |

| 6 | 7 | | Award from the Texas State University School of Social Work; and |

| 7 | 8 | | WHEREAS, A graduate of Texas Tech University, Mr. Streu is |

| 8 | 9 | | pursuing his master of social work degree from Texas State; he is |

| 9 | 10 | | the emergency housing voucher service coordinator for Texas |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | Homeless Network; in this role, he works to ensure that EHV |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | recipients can secure housing quickly and access services that |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | promote stability in their lives; he previously served the |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | organization as a policy analyst intern; and |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Streu has completed a Masters of Social Work |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | internship at the State Capitol benefiting residents of House |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | District 45; during his tenure in the office of State |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | Representative Erin Zwiener, he connected several constituent |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | families with mortgage assistance; he also provided research and |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | analysis as a subject matter expert on homelessness, housing, |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | finance, and financial social work; in addition, he held meetings |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | with stakeholders and contributed to the drafting of legislative |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | proposals used to request bill drafts for the 88th Legislative |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | Session; and |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | WHEREAS, Born and raised in Lubbock, Mr. Streu has worked in |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | nonprofit and faith-based organizations, as well as in financial |
|---|
| 26 | 27 | | services; he gained international experience during five years in |
|---|
| 27 | 28 | | Bosnia-Herzegovina with Operation Mobilization, a multinational |
|---|
| 28 | 29 | | ministry; and |
|---|
| 29 | 30 | | WHEREAS, Billy Streu has demonstrated an admirable |
|---|
| 30 | 31 | | commitment to economic justice and safe housing for all, and his |
|---|
| 31 | 32 | | continuing efforts are sure to help many Texans in the years to |
|---|
| 32 | 33 | | come; now, therefore, be it |

| 33 | 34 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |

| 34 | 35 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Billy Streu on his receipt of the |
