5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Daniel Casey has demonstrated an outstanding |

6 | 6 | | commitment to improving public education in Texas, and he is indeed |

7 | 7 | | deserving of special recognition for his many contributions; and |
---|
8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Casey enjoyed a rewarding career as a founding |
---|
9 | 9 | | partner of public school consulting firm Moak Casey that spanned 24 |
---|
10 | 10 | | years before his retirement in 2022, and he continues to serve the |
---|
11 | 11 | | organization as a consultant; he is also a senior consultant with |
---|
12 | 12 | | the Fast Growth School Coalition and has been recognized as one of |
---|
13 | 13 | | the state's leading experts on school district property taxes, |
---|
14 | 14 | | economic development property value limitations, and freeport |
---|
15 | 15 | | exemptions; and |
---|
16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Respected in his profession, Mr. Casey has worked |
---|
17 | 17 | | for the Texas State Comptroller's Office and the Legislative Budget |
---|
18 | 18 | | Board, and he is a former associate director of the Texas |
---|
19 | 19 | | Association of School Boards; in addition, he has been involved |
---|
20 | 20 | | with the American Economic Association, the American Educational |
---|
21 | 21 | | Research Association, the American Political Science Association, |
---|
22 | 22 | | the American Society for Public Administration, and the American |
---|
23 | 23 | | Statistical Association; and |
---|
24 | 24 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Casey holds a bachelor's degree from the |
---|
25 | 25 | | University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, where he also pursued |
---|
26 | 26 | | postgraduate studies in the College of Education; he earned his |
---|
27 | 27 | | master's degree in public affairs from The University of Texas at |
---|
28 | 28 | | Austin; and |
---|
29 | 29 | | WHEREAS, Public education is an endeavor of vital importance |
---|
30 | 30 | | to the continued prosperity of the Lone Star State, and through his |
---|
31 | 31 | | wide-ranging expertise in finance and public policy, Daniel Casey |
---|
32 | 32 | | has made valuable contributions to school districts all across |
---|
33 | 33 | | Texas; now, therefore, be it |

34 | 34 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
---|
35 | 35 | | Legislature hereby commend Daniel Casey for his efforts to further |
---|
36 | 36 | | public education in Texas and extend to him sincere best wishes for |
