| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, A full and generous life drew to a close with the |

| 6 | 6 | | passing of Gloria Neumann Poole on February 20, 2023, at the age of |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | 85; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, The daughter of G. F. and Lillie Neumann, the former |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | Gloria Neumann was born in Marlin on December 27, 1937, and she grew |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | up with the companionship of three siblings, James, Glenn, and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | Gladys; she graduated from Texas Christian University in 1960; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, Mrs. Poole shared a rewarding marriage with her |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | husband, Donald, until his passing, and she took great pride in |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | their sons, Donald and Bradley; over the years, she had the pleasure |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | of welcoming into her family four beloved grandchildren, Taylor, |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Carsyn, Kinsley, and Hudson; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, A dedicated educator, Mrs. Poole specialized in |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | Reading Recovery, a program that provides supplemental instruction |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | to young children who are learning to read and write; she was also |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | sustained by her strong faith, and she was an active member of her |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | church, where she contributed to Sunday school and Bible study |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | groups; in her leisure hours, she enjoyed reading, spending time |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | with friends, and cheering on her grandchildren at sports games; |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | she further distinguished herself as a social director at tailgate |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | events; and |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | WHEREAS, Admired for her kindness, wisdom, and generous |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | nature, Gloria Poole brightened the world for all who knew her, and |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | they will forever hold her close in their hearts; now, therefore, be |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | it |

| 30 | 30 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Gloria Neumann |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | Poole and extend heartfelt sympathy to the members of her family: to |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | her sons, Donald Wesley Poole and his wife, Wendy, and Bradley |

| 34 | 34 | | Wilson Poole and his wife, Rhonda; to her grandchildren, Taylor and |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | her husband, Tyler, Carsyn, Kinsley, and Hudson; to her sister, |
