 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, J. Tom Fisher of Andrews achieved great distinction
 by winning the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association Steer Roping
 World Championship with a triumphant performance at the 2022
 National Finals Steer Roping competition, held November 4 and 5 in
 Mulvane, Kansas; and
 WHEREAS, Working in sync with his horse, Gump, Mr. Fisher
 claimed his first career gold buckle by finishing atop the PRCA
 world standings with $123,477 in earnings; he arrived at NFSR in
 fifth place, and he reached the pinnacle with an impressive showing
 that included winning Rounds 5 and 10, placing in six other rounds,
 and finishing third in the average on nine head; his final earnings
 tally of $64,575 was the highest at the event; and
 WHEREAS, Mr. Fisher has 10 NFSR qualifications under his belt
 and has won a number of competitions, including the Wilson County
 Pro Rodeo in Fredonia, Kansas, the Jim Shoulders Living Legends Pro
 Rodeo in Henryetta, Oklahoma, and the West Texas Fair & Rodeo in
 Abilene; he is a graduate of Texas Tech University and works as an
 independent petroleum land man and rancher in addition to pursuing
 his rodeo career; and
 WHEREAS, J. Tom Fisher is a source of great pride to his
 family and community, and his world championship victory has
 furthered the Lone Star State's reputation for rodeo excellence;
 now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate J. Tom Fisher on winning the 2022
 PRCA Steer Roping World Championship and extend to him sincere best
 wishes for continued success; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Mr. Fisher as an expression of high regard by the Texas
 House of Representatives.
