| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Robert Vargas of Andrews County Airport is being |

| 6 | 6 | | honored as the Airport Professional of the Year at the Texas |

| 7 | 7 | | Department of Transportation 41st Annual Texas Aviation Conference |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | in April 2023; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Vargas has served as manager of the Andrews |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | County Airport since 2010; he oversees maintenance, operations, and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | customer service at the site, and through the years, other Texas |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | airports have adopted his practices in such areas as wildlife |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | management and property beautification; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Widely respected, Mr. Vargas represents Texas |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Panhandle aviation facilities as a member of the Texas Airport |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | System Plan Project Advisory Committee; among his contributions, he |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | helps develop strategic next-generation initiatives while |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | advocating for the increased awareness of and investment in the |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | rural airports of the Lone Star State; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Through his leadership, hard work, and commitment to |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | excellence, Robert Vargas has earned the lasting respect and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | admiration of his peers, and he is indeed deserving of this |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | prestigious honor; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Robert Vargas on his selection as |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | the 2023 Airport Professional of the Year by the Texas Department of |

| 27 | 27 | | Transportation and extend to him sincere best wishes for the |
