5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, A rich and purposeful life drew to a close with the |

6 | 6 | | passing of Tammie Jolene Helton of Laketon on September 25, 2021, at |
---|
7 | 7 | | the age of 46; and |
---|
8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, The daughter of Connie Jolene Miller Sasser and |
---|
9 | 9 | | Lindy Lucian Sasser Sr., the former Tammie Sasser was born on July |
---|
10 | 10 | | 4, 1975, in Cheyenne, Oklahoma, and she grew up with the |
---|
11 | 11 | | companionship of four siblings, Kathryn, Brenda, Renea, and Lindy; |
---|
12 | 12 | | from an early age, she helped on the Miller family farm, and she |
---|
13 | 13 | | worked at a local diner during her teens and early 20s; she |
---|
14 | 14 | | graduated from Reydon High School in 1993 and later earned a |
---|
15 | 15 | | bachelor's degree in education from Southwestern Oklahoma State |
---|
16 | 16 | | University; and |
---|
17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, On November 1, 1996, she married Albert Wade Helton, |
---|
18 | 18 | | and the couple shared a fulfilling union that spanned nearly two and |
---|
19 | 19 | | a half decades; Ms. Helton took great pride in her sons, Michael |
---|
20 | 20 | | Lane Hall and Loagon Helton, and she had the pleasure of seeing her |
---|
21 | 21 | | family grow to include a grandson, Michael Rider Hall; and |
---|
22 | 22 | | WHEREAS, Ms. Helton worked as an educator in Miami, Texas, |
---|
23 | 23 | | for three years, and she went on to teach for seven years at Pampa |
---|
24 | 24 | | Middle School, where she earned a Teacher of the Year award; in |
---|
25 | 25 | | 2011, she concluded her career in education and established The |
---|
26 | 26 | | Trendy Trailer, a traveling women's clothing boutique; a skilled |
---|
27 | 27 | | entrepreneur, she built a loyal customer base in North Texas and |
---|
28 | 28 | | Western Oklahoma; in her leisure time, she enjoyed cooking and |
---|
29 | 29 | | baking for her loved ones; and |
---|
30 | 30 | | WHEREAS, Tammie Helton possessed a generosity of spirit that |
---|
31 | 31 | | expressed itself in myriad ways, and she enriched the lives of |
---|
32 | 32 | | countless people with her warmth and kindness; now, therefore, be |
---|
33 | 33 | | it |

34 | 34 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
---|
35 | 35 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Tammie Jolene |
---|
36 | 36 | | Helton and extend heartfelt sympathy to all who mourn her passing; |
