10 | 10 | | teaches journalism and media at Rock Hill High in Frisco ISD; she is |

11 | 11 | | the director of Rock Hill Media, an award-winning publications |

12 | 12 | | program that includes Hill Top Times, Hill Top News, the Blue Hawk |

13 | 13 | | yearbook, Rock Hill Radio, and Blue Hawk Studios, and serves as the |

14 | 14 | | school's broadcast and publication adviser; the Columbia |

15 | 15 | | Scholastic Press Association recognition is part of its National |

16 | 16 | | High School Journalism Teacher of the Year Awards program; and |

17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Earlier in her career, Ms. Raper worked as a |

18 | 18 | | journalism instructor at Wakeland High School in Frisco; |

19 | 19 | | subsequently, she served as the publication adviser for the |

20 | 20 | | Highland Park Independent School District, and she assumed her |
---|
21 | 21 | | current role with Rock Hill High in 2020; she is a former president |
---|
22 | 22 | | of the Texas Association of Journalism Educators, and she holds a |
---|
23 | 23 | | journalism degree from Texas A&M University and a master's of |
---|
24 | 24 | | education degree in educational technology leadership from Lamar |
---|
25 | 25 | | University; and |
---|
26 | 26 | | WHEREAS, Passionate about journalism and journalism |

27 | 27 | | education, Margie Raper works to inspire her students to become |

28 | 28 | | skilled storytellers and engaged members of their communities, and |

29 | 29 | | she may indeed reflect with pride on her receipt of these |

31 | 31 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
