| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Genesis Yougas of Lawson Early Childhood School has |

| 6 | 6 | | been named the 2023 Elementary Teacher of the Year in the McKinney |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | Independent School District; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, A solid education is vital for young people to |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | become successful and productive adults, and those men and women |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | who dedicate their careers to teaching make a positive difference |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | in the lives of their students and in the greater community; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, Genesis Yougas currently serves as a Head Start |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | teacher at Lawson Early Childhood School; she began her career in |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | special education and has held a variety of roles in early childhood |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | education over the past 10 years with McKinney ISD; a graduate of |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | McKinney North High School, she earned a bachelor's degree from |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | Texas A&M University-Commerce and is pursuing a master's degree in |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | educational leadership from the University of North Texas; and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, Genesis Yougas exemplifies the passion, |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | determination, and innovative spirit that are the hallmarks of our |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | best teachers, and she has set a standard of excellence to which all |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | in her profession may aspire; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Genesis Yougas on her selection as |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | the 2023 Elementary Teacher of the Year in the McKinney Independent |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | School District and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued |
