| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The tragic passing of Eliahna Amyah Garcia of Uvalde |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | on May 24, 2022, at the age of nine, brought an incalculable loss to |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | the family and friends of this beloved young girl; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Eliahna Garcia was born in Uvalde on June 4, 2012, to |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | Steven and Jennifer Garcia; her cherished family included her four |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | sisters, Janelle, Adrianna, Viviana, and Adalyn, as well as her |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | grandparents and many aunts, uncles, and cousins; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, Eliahna, who was affectionately known as "Ellie" to |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | her loved ones, was blessed with a kind heart and a vibrant, |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | cheerful spirit; she enjoyed dancing, playing basketball, and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | riding her bicycle, and she was an enthusiastic fan of the film |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Encanto; moreover, even though it was several years away, she had |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | already begun planning for her quinceañera party, and she had |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | dreams of becoming a cheerleader one day; and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, Through the love and laughter she shared, Eliahna |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | Garcia made the world a brighter place for everyone around her, and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | time will never dim their memories of the joy she brought into their |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | lives; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |

| 24 | 24 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Eliahna Amyah |

| 25 | 25 | | Garcia and extend deepest condolences to the members of her family: |

| 26 | 26 | | to her parents, Steven and Jennifer Garcia; to her sisters, |

| 27 | 27 | | Janelle, Adrianna, Viviana, and Adalyn Garcia; to her grandparents, |
