| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Words cannot adequately express the sorrow felt at |

| 6 | 6 | | the loss of Rojelio Fernandez Torres of Uvalde, who passed away on |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | May 24, 2022, at the age of 10; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Rojelio Torres was born in Uvalde on December 6, |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | 2011, to Federico Torres Jr. and Evadulia Orta; he grew up with the |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | companionship of two sisters, Sara and Mary, and a brother, |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | Federico, and he was surrounded by the love of many grandparents, |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | aunts, uncles, and cousins as well; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, An outgoing and kind-hearted young boy, Rojelio was |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | always smiling and eager to help others; he enjoyed being outdoors |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | and pursued a number of hobbies; among his favorites were playing |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | football and video games; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Although Rojelio Torres is greatly missed, his loved |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | ones were blessed beyond measure by his presence in their lives, and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | they will forever carry his memory close in their hearts; now, |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | therefore, be it |

| 21 | 21 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |

| 22 | 22 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Rojelio Fernandez |

| 23 | 23 | | Torres and extend profound condolences to the members of his |

| 24 | 24 | | family: to his parents, Federico Torres Jr. and Evadulia Orta; to |

| 25 | 25 | | his grandparents, Evadulia Fernandez, Jose Alfredo Orta and |

| 26 | 26 | | Veronica Ibarra, and Teresa Barboza; to his great-grandparents, |

| 27 | 27 | | Teresa Cabello and Rogelio De Leon; to his siblings, Sara Lee |
