44 R E S O L U T I O N
55 WHEREAS, Jim Harris retired as a teacher in the McMullen
66 County Independent School District in 2022, drawing to a close an
77 outstanding tenure in education that spanned nearly four decades;
88 and
99 WHEREAS, A graduate of Texas A&M University, Mr. Harris holds
1010 a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in agricultural
1111 education; in 1984, he joined the faculty of McMullen County High
1212 School, where he taught agriculture classes for 38 years; he also
1313 sponsored the FFA club, and he served as an advisor and mentor to
1414 many students participating in state-level competitions; and
1515 WHEREAS, Mr. Harris is the proud father of three children,
1616 Cotton, Charlsie, and Charity, all of whom attended McMullen County
1717 High; sustained by an abiding faith, he is a valued congregant of
1818 the First Baptist Church of Tilden; and
1919 WHEREAS, With his professionalism, expertise, and unwavering
2020 dedication, Jim Harris has earned the lasting respect of his
2121 colleagues and of the countless students whose lives he forever
2222 enriched, and he may indeed reflect with pride on a career well
2323 spent as he begins the next exciting chapter of his life; now,
2424 therefore, be it
2525 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
2626 Legislature hereby congratulate Jim Harris on his retirement from
2727 the McMullen County Independent School District and extend to him
2828 sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
2929 RESOLVED, That a copy of this resolution be prepared for
3030 Mr. Harris as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of
3131 Representatives.
