| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Jim Harris retired as a teacher in the McMullen |

| 6 | 6 | | County Independent School District in 2022, drawing to a close an |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | outstanding tenure in education that spanned nearly four decades; |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, A graduate of Texas A&M University, Mr. Harris holds |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in agricultural |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | education; in 1984, he joined the faculty of McMullen County High |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | School, where he taught agriculture classes for 38 years; he also |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | sponsored the FFA club, and he served as an advisor and mentor to |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | many students participating in state-level competitions; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Harris is the proud father of three children, |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Cotton, Charlsie, and Charity, all of whom attended McMullen County |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | High; sustained by an abiding faith, he is a valued congregant of |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | the First Baptist Church of Tilden; and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, With his professionalism, expertise, and unwavering |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | dedication, Jim Harris has earned the lasting respect of his |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | colleagues and of the countless students whose lives he forever |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | enriched, and he may indeed reflect with pride on a career well |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | spent as he begins the next exciting chapter of his life; now, |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | therefore, be it |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Jim Harris on his retirement from |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | the McMullen County Independent School District and extend to him |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
