 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Lucas Chan has ably served his fellow citizens as an
 aide in the office of State Representative Jacey Jetton during the
 88th Legislative Session; and
 WHEREAS, Since joining the staff, Mr. Chan has provided vital
 assistance in handling a wide variety of challenging tasks, which
 have included conducting research on such important matters as
 cybersecurity, appropriations, health care, education, and housing
 as well as communicating with constituents; in addition to gaining
 valuable experience in the field of public service, he has learned
 more about the legislative process and the issues facing citizens
 of the Lone Star State; and
 WHEREAS, Mr. Chan is pursuing a degree in economics and
 humanities at The University of Texas at Austin through the Plan I
 Honors program; he currently maintains a 4.0 grade point average,
 and he has found time to serve as a member of the Phi Delta Phi legal
 honor society, the Taiwanese American Student Association, and the
 Chinese Student Association; moreover, he is a writer for the Texas
 Economic Journal, and he has volunteered his time locally with the
 Travis County Court Visitor Volunteer Program; and
 WHEREAS, Lucas Chan has performed his duties as a legislative
 aide with skill and dedication, and he is indeed deserving of
 special recognition for his fine work; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
 Legislature hereby commend Lucas Chan for his service as a
 legislative aide in the office of State Representative Jacey Jetton
 and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success in all
 his endeavors; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Mr. Chan as an expression of high regard by the Texas
 House of Representatives.
