| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Lucas Chan has ably served his fellow citizens as an |

| 6 | 6 | | aide in the office of State Representative Jacey Jetton during the |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | 88th Legislative Session; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Since joining the staff, Mr. Chan has provided vital |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | assistance in handling a wide variety of challenging tasks, which |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | have included conducting research on such important matters as |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | cybersecurity, appropriations, health care, education, and housing |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | as well as communicating with constituents; in addition to gaining |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | valuable experience in the field of public service, he has learned |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | more about the legislative process and the issues facing citizens |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | of the Lone Star State; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Chan is pursuing a degree in economics and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | humanities at The University of Texas at Austin through the Plan I |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | Honors program; he currently maintains a 4.0 grade point average, |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | and he has found time to serve as a member of the Phi Delta Phi legal |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | honor society, the Taiwanese American Student Association, and the |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Chinese Student Association; moreover, he is a writer for the Texas |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | Economic Journal, and he has volunteered his time locally with the |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | Travis County Court Visitor Volunteer Program; and |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | WHEREAS, Lucas Chan has performed his duties as a legislative |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | aide with skill and dedication, and he is indeed deserving of |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | special recognition for his fine work; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | Legislature hereby commend Lucas Chan for his service as a |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | legislative aide in the office of State Representative Jacey Jetton |

| 30 | 30 | | and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success in all |
