| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, A full and generous life drew to a close with the |

| 6 | 6 | | passing of Zulema Medina Martinez on March 20, 2023, at the age of |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | 70; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, The daughter of Alberto Medina Sr. and Refugia D. |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | Medina, the former Zulema Medina was born on March 27, 1952, and she |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | grew up with the companionship of six siblings, Jesus, Gilbert, |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | Hilda, Hilma, Alberto, and David; later in life, she enjoyed a long |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | and rewarding career as a certified nursing assistant; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, In all her endeavors, Ms. Martinez benefited from |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | the love and support of her husband, Amado; she took great pride in |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | her children, Albert, Benny, and Sofie, and with the passing years, |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | she had the pleasure of welcoming into her family 10 grandchildren |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | and 5 great-grandchildren; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, Zulema Martinez led a life of caring devotion to her |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | loved ones, and although she is deeply missed, her spirit will |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | forever live in their hearts; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Zulema Medina |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | Martinez and extend heartfelt sympathy to the members of her |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | family: to her husband, Amado Granado; to her father, Alberto |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Medina; to her children, Albert Garcia, Benny Martinez, and Sofie |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | Molina and her husband, Gilbert; to her sisters, Hilda Gallegos and |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | her husband, Hector, and Hilma Molina and her husband, Manuel; to |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | her brothers, Alberto Medina Jr. and David Medina and his wife, |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | Diana; to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and to her |

| 30 | 30 | | other relatives and friends; and, be it further |
