| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Parker Ritchey of Scouts BSA Troop No. 279 in El |

| 6 | 6 | | Paso has attained the rank of Eagle Scout, and this accomplishment |

| 7 | 7 | | truly merits special recognition; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, The Eagle Scout badge is a significant honor |

| 9 | 9 | | bestowed on only a small fraction of those who enter the scouting |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | movement; in the course of meeting the rank's demanding criteria, |

| 11 | 11 | | Mr. Ritchey earned the requisite 21 merit badges and successfully |

| 12 | 12 | | completed an Eagle Scout project of benefit to his community, which |

| 13 | 13 | | involved providing Thanksgiving meals to local residents; and |

| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, This fine young Texan has demonstrated outstanding |

| 15 | 15 | | leadership ability throughout his scouting career, winning the |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | respect and admiration of his fellow troop members as he worked |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | toward the highest rank that the organization offers; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, Eagle Scout Ritchey's dedication to excellence and |

| 19 | 19 | | his perseverance in the pursuit of his goals have proven him worthy |

| 20 | 20 | | to stand among scouting's elite, and he may indeed reflect with |

| 21 | 21 | | pride on a job well done; now, therefore, be it |

| 22 | 22 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |

| 23 | 23 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Parker Ritchey on achieving the |
