| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Memories of a life well lived remain to comfort the |

| 6 | 6 | | family and friends of Alfred Eugene Hagan, who passed away on April |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | 10, 2023, at the age of 83; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, The son of Eugene Hagan and Anna Dais Hagan, Alfred |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | Hagan was born on December 6, 1939, in Mobile, Alabama; he attended |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | St. Peter Claver Grade School and Most Pure Heart of Mary High |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | School and continued his education at Xavier University of |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | Louisiana; he later moved to Houston, where he enrolled at Texas |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Southern University; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Hagan was drafted into the U.S. Army, and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | following his tour of duty, he received an honorable discharge; he |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | subsequently began a rewarding career with the City of Houston and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | retired from the city after many years of service; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, A skilled athlete, Mr. Hagan played many sports |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | during his youth, and he embraced tennis as an adult, earning the |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | nickname "Chip & Dip" for his distinctive playing style; and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Above all else, Mr. Hagan took great pride in his |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | daughter, Kenah, and with the passing years, he had the pleasure of |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | welcoming a granddaughter, Kayden, into the family; and |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | WHEREAS, Alfred Hagan will be deeply missed, and those who |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | were privileged to share in his love and friendship will always |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | remember him with great admiration and affection; now, therefore, |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | be it |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Alfred Eugene Hagan |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | and extend sincere condolences to the members of his family: to his |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | daughter, Kenah Hagan; to his granddaughter, Kayden Johnson; and to |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | his other relatives and friends; and, be it further |

| 33 | 33 | | RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
