| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, All who shared in the life of Wilfred Dean Anthony of |

| 6 | 6 | | Dallas were deeply saddened by his passing on March 31, 2023, at the |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | age of 82; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, The son of David and Gladys Anthony, Wilfred Anthony |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | was born in Dallas on May 17, 1940, and he grew up with the |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | companionship of his twin sister, Mildred, and five other siblings, |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | George, David, Joe, Obenna, and Mary; he graduated from Lincoln |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | High School and went on to receive a bachelor's degree in pharmacy |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | from Texas Southern University; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Anthony began his long and rewarding career as a |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | pharmacist at Parkland Hospital and Walgreens; he eventually opened |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | his own business, Dr. Deano's Pharmacy, in South Dallas, where he |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | distinguished himself through his dedication to his customers; |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | active in his community, he gave generously of his time and talents |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | to the Texas Southern University National Alumni Association and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | the Dallas Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity; and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Anthony was the proud father of two children, |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | Alicia and NaKiiveun, and in his leisure time, he enjoyed playing |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | golf, practicing karate, and traveling; in addition, he was a |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | valued member of St. Anthony Catholic Church; and |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | WHEREAS, Although Wilfred Anthony will be greatly missed, he |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | has left his family and friends with a wealth of memories they will |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | forever treasure; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Wilfred Dean Anthony |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | and extend sincere condolences to the members of his family: to his |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | daughter, Alicia Anthony; to his son, NaKiiveun Anthony; to his |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | sisters, Mildred VanZandt and Mary Watkin and her husband, Milton; |

| 33 | 33 | | to his sister-in-law, Vehester Galbreath; to his brother-in-law, |

| 34 | 34 | | James Hartford; to his nephews and nieces; and to his many other |
