| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Sarah Cockerham Lynch has been named a recipient of |

| 6 | 6 | | a 2023 Distinguished Alumni Award by the Killeen Independent School |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | District Alumni Association; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Each year, the alumni association recognizes |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | Killeen ISD graduates who have contributed significantly to their |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | communities or professions and who serve as inspiring role models |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | for future generations; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, Sarah Cockerham Lynch attended Fowler and Bellaire |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Elementary Schools and Nolan Junior High School, and she graduated |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | from Killeen High School in 1975; she went on to teach in Killeen |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | ISD for more than a decade; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Mrs. Cockerham Lynch is currently chief operating |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | officer of R Lynch Enterprises, and together with her husband, |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | retired U.S. Army Lieutenant General Rick Lynch, she is a dedicated |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | advocate for military service members and their families; she |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | serves as an ambassador for the Gary Sinise Foundation and as an |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | advisor for Operation Finally Home, and she gives generously of her |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | time and talents to benefit the Homes For Our Troops organization; |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | and |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | WHEREAS, The accomplishments of noteworthy alumni are a |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | source of great pride to all those associated with Killeen ISD, and |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | Sarah Cockerham Lynch is indeed deserving of this prestigious |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | honor; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |

| 29 | 29 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Sarah Cockerham Lynch on her |

| 30 | 30 | | receipt of a 2023 Distinguished Alumni Award from the Killeen |

| 31 | 31 | | Independent School District Alumni Association and extend to her |
