| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Cynthia Longoria of ResCare Community Living in |

| 6 | 6 | | Harlingen has been named the Texas Direct Support Professional of |

| 7 | 7 | | the Year for 2023 by the American Network of Community Options and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | Resources; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, A national nonprofit trade association, ANCOR |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | represents some 2,000 organizations employing direct support |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | professionals (DSPs) who serve individuals with intellectual and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | developmental disabilities; each year, the association selects an |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | exemplary DSP from each state who has gone above and beyond to |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | ensure the safety, well-being, and inclusion of the people they |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | support; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Ms. Longoria first joined what would later become |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | ResCare on August 6, 1990; she was promoted to site supervisor after |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | 2 years, serving in that role with the company's intermediate care |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | facilities program for 15 years and with its home and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | community-based services for 17; she is admired for her |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | organizational and communication skills and her attention to detail |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | as well as for her ability to create a warm, familial atmosphere in |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | a group home setting; over the years, she has been recognized with |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | the ResCare Expect the Best "Hurricane Hero" award, and she won the |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | 2022 ResCare "How I Change Lives" Contest; and |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | WHEREAS, Through her skill, dedication, and compassion, |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | Cynthia Longoria has greatly enriched the lives of ResCare clients, |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | and she is indeed deserving of this notable honor; now, therefore, |

| 30 | 30 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |

| 31 | 31 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Cynthia Longoria on her selection |
