44 R E S O L U T I O N
55 WHEREAS, The Honorable Jim Huff ably served the citizens of
66 Live Oak County as county judge for 34 years, and his knowledge and
77 dedication have earned him the respect of many people along the way;
88 and
99 WHEREAS, First taking office on January 1, 1987, Judge Huff
1010 distinguished himself through his outstanding service as presiding
1111 officer of the commissioners court and through his astute
1212 leadership of county government operations; and
1313 WHEREAS, A native of Live Oak County, Judge Huff attended
1414 Texas A&M University; prior to his election to the bench, he worked
1515 in law enforcement in Nueces and Live Oak Counties; and
1616 WHEREAS, Over the course of his tenure as a public servant,
1717 Jim Huff made many significant contributions to the betterment of
1818 life in his community, and he may take justifiable pride in his
1919 exemplary record of achievement; now, therefore, be it
2020 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
2121 Legislature hereby congratulate Jim Huff on his retirement as Live
2222 Oak County judge and extend to him sincere best wishes for the
2323 future; and, be it further
2424 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2525 prepared for Judge Huff as an expression of high regard by the Texas
2626 House of Representatives.
