| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The Honorable Jim Huff ably served the citizens of |

| 6 | 6 | | Live Oak County as county judge for 34 years, and his knowledge and |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | dedication have earned him the respect of many people along the way; |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, First taking office on January 1, 1987, Judge Huff |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | distinguished himself through his outstanding service as presiding |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | officer of the commissioners court and through his astute |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | leadership of county government operations; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, A native of Live Oak County, Judge Huff attended |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Texas A&M University; prior to his election to the bench, he worked |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | in law enforcement in Nueces and Live Oak Counties; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Over the course of his tenure as a public servant, |

| 17 | 17 | | Jim Huff made many significant contributions to the betterment of |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | life in his community, and he may take justifiable pride in his |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | exemplary record of achievement; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Jim Huff on his retirement as Live |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | Oak County judge and extend to him sincere best wishes for the |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | future; and, be it further |
