| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Karina Lucio has ably served her fellow Texans as an |

| 6 | 6 | | intern in the office of State Representative R. D. "Bobby" Guerra |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | during the 88th Legislative Session; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Since joining the staff, Ms. Lucio has provided |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | vital assistance in handling a wide variety of challenging tasks, |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | including corresponding and arranging meetings with stakeholders |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | and drafting research and talking points for bills and committee |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | hearings; in addition to gaining valuable experience in the field |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | of public service, she has learned more about the legislative |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | process and the issues facing citizens of the Lone Star State; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Ms. Lucio is interning for Representative Guerra as |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | part of The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley Legislative |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | Internship Program; she is currently pursuing a political science |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | degree with a minor in English, and she has plans to attend law |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | school after graduation; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Karina Lucio has performed her duties as a |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | legislative intern with skill and dedication, and she is indeed |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | deserving of special recognition for her fine work; now, therefore, |

| 24 | 24 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |

| 25 | 25 | | Legislature hereby commend Karina Lucio for her service as a |

| 26 | 26 | | legislative intern in the office of State Representative R. D. |

| 27 | 27 | | "Bobby" Guerra and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued |
