No. 1514 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Dr. Kandee Richardson-Guartuche has received a 2023 Women in Education Award from the Education Service Center Region 2 at its Outstanding Women in Education event on March 29; and WHEREAS, Dr. Richardson-Guartuche currently serves as director for innovative approaches to literacy for the Education Service Center Region 2, where she has been employed for the past two years; and WHEREAS, In 2021, the ESC-2 was the recipient of a Project LEARN IT grant by the U.S. Department of Education to remodel 54 qualifying campuses over a three-year period; Dr. Richardson-Guartuche has been instrumental in the successful implementation of processes and protocols as a result of the grant funding that have helped improve library designs and promote literacy in the center's service area; and WHEREAS, Dr. Kandee Richardson-Guartuche has set an outstanding example of leadership and dedication to which others may aspire, and she is indeed deserving of this noteworthy honor; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Dr. Kandee Richardson-Guartuche on her receipt of a 2023 Women in Education Award from the Education Service Center Region 2 and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success in her important work; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Dr. Richardson-Guartuche as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
