| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Kandee Richardson-Guartuche has received a 2023 |

| 6 | 6 | | Women in Education Award from the Education Service Center Region 2 |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | at its Outstanding Women in Education event on March 29; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Richardson-Guartuche currently serves as |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | director for innovative approaches to literacy for the Education |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | Service Center Region 2, where she has been employed for the past |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | two years; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, In 2021, the ESC-2 was the recipient of a Project |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | LEARN IT grant by the U.S. Department of Education to remodel 54 |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | qualifying campuses over a three-year period; |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Dr. Richardson-Guartuche has been instrumental in the successful |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | implementation of processes and protocols as a result of the grant |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | funding that have helped improve library designs and promote |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | literacy in the center's service area; and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Kandee Richardson-Guartuche has set an |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | outstanding example of leadership and dedication to which others |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | may aspire, and she is indeed deserving of this noteworthy honor; |

| 22 | 22 | | now, therefore, be it |

| 23 | 23 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |

| 24 | 24 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Dr. Kandee Richardson-Guartuche on |
