44 R E S O L U T I O N
55 WHEREAS, Bryan Bradford retired as the city manager of
66 Garland on January 17, 2023, drawing to a close an exceptional
77 career in public service that spanned nearly three decades; and
88 WHEREAS, Mr. Bradford joined the City of Garland staff in
99 1994, and he distinguished himself in the roles of director of
1010 organizational development, managing director of budget and
1111 research, senior managing director, and assistant city manager
1212 prior to his appointment as city manager on May 1, 2015; under his
1313 leadership, Garland has experienced strong economic development,
1414 and he guided the community through an array of challenges,
1515 including natural disasters and the COVID-19 pandemic; and
1616 WHEREAS, Widely respected by his peers, Mr. Bradford is a
1717 member of the International City/County Management Association as
1818 well as the Texas City Management Association and the Government
1919 Finance Officers Association; moreover, he has served on the board
2020 of directors for the Garland Chamber of Commerce; he holds a
2121 business administration degree from Abilene Christian University
2222 and a master's degree in public administration from Texas Tech
2323 University; he previously worked in the private sector as vice
2424 president of the Linde Corporation and as the managing partner of
2525 UNITS; and
2626 WHEREAS, Mr. Bradford and his wife, Teria, are actively
2727 involved with several charities, including the Dillon
2828 International adoption agency and Boles Children's Home; the couple
2929 are the proud parents of two daughters, Shawnteé and Haleigh, and
3030 retirement will afford Mr. Bradford the opportunity to spend more
3131 time with his family and to pursue his passions for sailing and
3232 reading; and
3333 WHEREAS, Bryan Bradford's dedication, skill, and leadership
3434 have greatly benefited the citizens of Garland and earned the
3535 admiration of his colleagues, and he may indeed reflect with pride
3636 on a career well spent as he embarks on the next exciting chapter of
3737 his life; now, therefore, be it
3838 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
3939 Legislature hereby congratulate Bryan Bradford on his retirement as
4040 the city manager of Garland and extend to him sincere best wishes
4141 for the future; and, be it further
4242 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
4343 prepared for Mr. Bradford as an expression of high regard by the
4444 Texas House of Representatives.
