5	5	WHEREAS, A caring and purposeful life drew to a close with the
6	6	passing of Maria Luisa Rios Flores of Robstown on December 20, 2022,
7	7	at the age of 69; and
8	8	WHEREAS, "Mary Lou" Flores was born to Hilario and Modesta
9	9	Hinojosa Rios on October 17, 1953, in Robstown, and she grew up
10	10	sharing in the companionship of nine siblings, Rey, Arturo,
11	11	Leticia, Martha, Rosie, Hilda, David, Hilario, and Rodney; and
12	12	WHEREAS, In 1970, she married Ruben Flores, and the couple
13	13	went on to share a rewarding marriage that spanned more than half a
14	14	century; Mrs. Flores was a devoted mother to her three sons, Ruben,
15	15	Rodney, and Roland, and as the years passed, she was further blessed
16	16	with seven grandchildren, Rheana, Raven, Mercedes, Mariah,
17	17	Valerie, RJ, and Evan, and three great-grandchildren, Miles, Halle,
18	18	and Tres; and
19	19	WHEREAS, Mary Lou Flores possessed a generosity of spirit
20	20	that expressed itself in myriad ways, and she enriched the lives of
21	21	countless people with her warmth and kindness; now, therefore, be
22	22	it
23	23	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
24	24	Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Maria Luisa Rios
25	25	Flores and extend sincere condolences to the members of her family:
26	26	to her husband, Ruben Flores; to her sons, Ruben Flores Jr. and his
27	27	wife, Carolyn, Rodney Flores and his wife, Marisa, and Roland
28	28	Flores and Allison Vela; to her siblings, Rey Rios and his wife,
29	29	Ida, Arturo Rios, Rosie Rios, Leticia Ramon and her husband,
30	30	Ricardo, Martha Quinn and her husband, Bill, and Hilda Ornelas and
31	31	her husband, Juan; to her grandchildren, Rheana Derice, Rodney
32	32	Flores Jr., and Raven, Miah, Mariah, Valerie, and Evan Flores; to
33	33	her great-grandchildren, Miles and Halle Derice and Florencio
34	34	Serrano III; and to her other relatives and many friends; and, be it
35	35	further
36	36	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
37	37	prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
38	38	Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Mary Lou
39	39	Flores.
