| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The City of Rockwall has greatly benefited from the |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | public service and leadership of Kevin Fowler, who is concluding |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | his tenure as mayor in May 2023; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Fowler was elected to his first of three terms |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | on the Rockwall City Council in 2015, and during his time as a |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | councilmember, he was twice named mayor pro tempore; he |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | successfully ran for the office of mayor in 2021; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, Through the years, Mayor Fowler has held leadership |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | roles on a number of boards and commissions for the city, including |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | the Rockwall Economic Development Corporation, the Building Better |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Roads Bond Committee, and the Rockwall Business and Education |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Committee; he has also been active with the Rockwall Area Chamber of |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | Commerce, the Rockwall Rotary Club, Baylor Scott & White Medical |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | Center-Lake Pointe, the YMCA, the Boy Scouts of America, the |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | Rockwall Youth Fair, and CASA, and he is a member of First Baptist |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | Church of Rockwall; and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Mayor Fowler has enjoyed a 30-year career in banking |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | and currently serves as the Rockwall regional president of Lakeside |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | Bank; he earned a bachelor's degree in finance from Louisiana State |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | University and graduated from Southern Methodist University's |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Southwestern Graduate School of Banking; and |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | WHEREAS, Through his many civic contributions, Kevin Fowler |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | has helped to make Rockwall an even better place in which to live |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | and work, and he may indeed reflect with pride on all that he has |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | accomplished; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | Legislature hereby commend Mayor Kevin Fowler on his service to |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | Rockwall and extend to him sincere best wishes for the future; and, |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | be it further |
